Going on a vacation is something most of us look forward to during the rest of the year. If you’re one of these people, it’s also understandable if you want to look your best while you’re relaxing on the beach or by the pool somewhere exotic. Still, no matter how long you’re staying for, it’s necessary to prepare yourself for the vacation so you’ll look fabulous and maybe even ready to party.

Here are some tips on how to achieve that flawless look and have a great vacation:

1. Remove all the excess hair

Before the vacation, it’s necessary to remove all the extra hair from your legs, bikini zone, arms and sometimes even armpits. The best way is to have a laser hair removal, but if you can’t afford it, regular waxing will do. If you prefer to shave, make sure you shave a day before the trip so you can start swimming straight away, and of course, don’t forget to bring razors. Another option is to remove the hair with an epilator, which is cheaper, and the best thing is that you can do it whenever and wherever you want.

2. Pedicure and manicure treatments

Pedicure and manicure treatments

Since you’ll probably be walking barefoot almost all the time, having a pedicure is something you should definitely consider, even if you don’t usually do it. Your feet will be exposed so it would be fair to give them the treatment they deserve, and if you choose a gel polish, you can be sure that your toenails will look good without worrying that the polish will come off. Same goes for a manicure — you don’t need to spend your valuable vacation time applying or removing nail polishes. Instead, choose the colours that are neutral and easily matched with the rest of your vacation outfits and make sure you go to an experienced and reliable manicurist or pedicurist, so you’ll avoid all the unpleasant surprises while you’re on vacation.

3. Consider (semi) permanent makeup

Consider (semi) permanent makeup

Having permanent makeup can significantly reduce the amount you spend on makeup products, and also save you the time you spend in front of the mirror. Also, if you’re going to spend a lot of time getting tanned, it’s recommended you use less makeup, so having a (semi) permanent solution can help you look good even without any actual products. Before you decide to spend money on permanent makeup treatment, it’s important to do your research and find the most professional aesthetic clinic that will address your questions before the treatment and show you how to care for your face afterwards. If you can’t choose what to do, doing a permanent eyeliner or adding a bit of colour to your lips are always good choices when it comes to permanent makeup.

4. Facial treatment

Facial treatment

This one can be done both before and after the vacation. Having a facial before an important event can make your skin look energized and fresh. During the vacation, your skin is exposed to harmful sun rays, so it’s necessary to have an SPF protection in the form of creams or a spray which you will use on your face a couple of times a day. And, despite all the protection during the day, you should also apply a moisturiser before you go to bed. After you come back home, you should also consider having another facial so your skin can be properly cleaned and moisturised once again. It’s essential to point out that you should ask around before you book an appointment since you don’t want someone inexperienced messing with your face.

5. Trim your hair (but don’t dye it)

Trim your hair (but don’t dye it)

It’s completely understandable if you want to change up your hair a bit before travelling to a new place. Now, in case you’re going on a beach vacation, you shouldn’t really dye your hair because the heavy sun rays will likely change your hair colour. If you still want to colour your hair, it’s better to do an ombre since it doesn’t affect your hair roots and you can easily trim the edges if you don’t like the colour anymore. Additionally, bring dry shampoo and your favourite conditioner to protect your hair from sea salt and sunlight, and wash your hair in the evening after you’re done with all the beach activities. Of course, you should visit your hairstylist after the vacation and treat yourself to deep cleansing and deep conditioning treatment.

So, these are the most important beauty prep tips to help you look beautiful while being on a vacation. Do anything that you think is necessary, but always remember that the reason for your trip is to rest and have fun. If you’re feeling good on the inside, your face and body will reflect that no matter what.
