St. Regis Aspen Resort Rituals
Signature Bloody Mary Served at the King Cole Bar

A born inventor and change maker, John Jacob Astor IV founded The St. Regis New York as a place to pursue his passions in the company of the city’s luminaries. More than a century later, the St. Regis brand is renowned for its tradition of innovation and commitment to impeccable service at more than 40 hotels and resorts around the world. Learn how we celebrate the legacy today at The St. Regis Aspen Resort, from the Champagne Sabering tradition and live music events in our bars, to Summer S’mores, a signature Bloody Mary cocktail and more.
Champagne Sabering
The St. Regis Aspen Resort continues a tradition started by John Jacob Astor IV when he founded the first St. Regis Hotel in New York, circa 1904. Guests gather for a ceremonial champagne sabering to celebrate the transition from the day into night. Experience this time honored St. Regis tradition with a daily champagne sabering, approximately 4:45pm during the winter season and 5:15pm during the summer season.
The Downhill Red Snapper
The tradition of Bloody Marys continues to be a cornerstone of St. Regis resorts. Each St. Regis resort showcases its own signature spin on the classic with The St. Regis Aspen Resort serving The Downhill Red Snapper. This unique take on the cocktail includes fresh basil and dill garnished with two olives and a pickle. Tastings are offered each day at 11:15 am in the Mountain Social Bar and Lounge.
Summer S’mores by the Fountain Courtyard Fire
S’mores are complimentary on Fridays & Saturdays from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. All ages are welcome to this favorite family tradition and summer ritual.

St. Regis Butler Service is a treasured hallmark of the St. Regis hotel experience, and has been for over a century.

Beverage Services
Upon arrival, allow a St. Regis Butler to arrange coffee or tea service in your room. And if you wish, a St. Regis butler will arrive after your morning wake-up call to draw your shades, deliver your coffee or tea as well as the day’s newspaper and weather forecast.
Unpacking & Packing Services
Allow a St. Regis Butler to take care of the unpacking and storage of your luggage—so that you can relax and settle in for your stay. Similarly, before you depart, simply contact the butler service desk to dispatch a Butler to assist with gathering and folding your garments to prepare your luggage for the journey home.
Garment Pressing
Once unpacked, simply let your St. Regis Butler know which garments require pressing and they will be pleased to assist, returning the garments to your wardrobe promptly. This service includes pressing of two garments per person, upon arrival.
Pet Friendly
Introducing Kitty: Rooted in the Astor Legacy

Last December, we received a gift from the North Pole – a new puppy named Kitty. The gentleman who founded the original St. Regis in New York in 1904, John Jacob Astor IV, had a dog named Kitty and as the second property in the collection, The St. Regis Aspen Resort honors Astor’s legacy with a new enhancement. The Fur Butler is in charge of managing Kitty’s daily schedule and ensuring the Resort’s pet offerings are perfectly executed.
