Essential oils can play a vital role in your beauty routine if you know their benefits.  Personally, at different times, I use three of the essential oils and then I also use a blended oil by L’oreal when my skin is feeling particularly parched (like right now!).  It’s important to differentiate between the essential oils so that you will know which ones to use either all over or at different locations on your face.

1.     Argan Oil

argan-oil

Argan oil contains antioxidants, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids.  It’s full of the stuff we need to look our best!  Also, don’t worry about clogged pores.  It balances and neutralizes your natural oil production.  Because of this, it actually helps with acne and blemishes.  It’s also especially gentle on people with sensitive skin conditions like eczema and rosacea.

It’s also an anti-aging serum because it protects the skin’s elasticity.  And, the great news is that it is light enough to be used as a daily moisturizer and hydrating enough to be used as an overnight treatment.  With all these benefits, Argan oil is truly a miracle oil!

2.     Rosehip Oil

Rosehip OIl
What do Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr all have in common? Reportedly, they use rosehip oil to keep their skin smooth and blemish-free.

Rosehip oil’s anti-aging properties come from antioxidants and the oil’s ability to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin.  Vitamins A and C stimulate collagen production as well.  Rosehip oil also protects you from age spots which can be loathsome.  The antioxidants combat free radicals that cause sun damage.  Vitamin A, combined with the oil’s essential fatty acids, can help improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation.

3.     Vitamin C Oil

Vitamin C Oil

Vitamin C oil does most of what argan oil and rosehip oil does, it just does it all-in-one.  The other two are great for specific, targeted troublesome areas, but Vitamin C oil will treat everything!  I find it great to have all three so that I can use them according to my skin’s needs of the moment.  For example, if I’m worried about my skin tone or sun damage, I would use rosehip oil.  If I wanted to treat acne or combat anti-aging effects, I would use the argan oil, but for a generalized treatment of my face and neck, I would use Vitamin C oil.

Vitamin C oil is a very effective antioxidant and fights free radicals that cause aging.  It also inhibits melanin production.  Melanin can lead to age spots which nobody wants!  It also increases the production of collagen which is great for the face and neck.

4.     L’oreal Age Perfect Glow Renewal

Loreal Glow Renewal

L’oreal’s Glow Renewal is comprised of a unique blend of eight essential oils.  These oils restore skin’s youthful glow and deeply nourish and replenish dull, dry skin.  It’s non-greasy and absorbs quickly for all-day hydration.  I’ve found all these to be true as I use this product when my skin is dry and needs extra nourishment.  It’s definitely perfect for that!

Here are the eight essential oils:

  • English Lavender
  • Rosemary Leaf
  • Geranium
  • Orange Peel
  • Roman Chamomile
  • Rose Flower
